What is the difference between Collision and Comprehensive coverage for my automobile?

Laws vary by state but in general:

Collision insurance covers a loss to your vehicle caused by an impact with another vehicle or object.
Comprehensive insurance protects against any loss or damage to an automobile except those caused by collision such as fire or theft.

What is the difference between bodily injury liability coverage and medical payments coverage?

Bodily Injury Liability coverage pays for injuries you or anyone covered under your policy may cause to others. Medical Payments coverage pays for medical expenses (within reason) for you or your passengers, regardless of fault. Some details vary by state.

What does a homeowner insurance policy cover?

Homeowner insurance covers damage from incidents such as fire, theft, and vandalism to your house in addition to adjacent structures like a garage or shed. It also covers your personal belongings such as appliances and furniture. It can also cover living expenses if your house becomes temporarily unusable due to a covered issue. It also covers liability in case you or a member of your household injures someone or damages their property.

What is not covered by my home insurance policy?

Most items are covered (up to specified limits) for covered issues such as theft or fire. Many items such as money have coverage limits and we can describe those to you in detail. Things such as loss of a personal item by you or damage to personal items would not be covered unless you have additional coverage. Damage to your personal belongings that is caused by a pet is not covered.

What if my life insurance needs change?

We can discuss options to convert term coverage to permanent coverage when it’s a better fit. We can also help you determine is a universal life policy is better if you can foresee issues that would require a change or want the added protection.  We are available to review your policy whenever you wish. Should I have life insurance on my child?

This is a personal decision. Life insurance for children is not common but there are other advantages to buying life insurance for children. A permanent policy could protect your child from increased rates later in life and many policies offer your child the option to purchase additional options later or even borrow against the value if need be.  Contact us for more details.
